The Proposal

Fiona the Bride: My wedding dresses from Ava Rose Hamilton Silsden, They stocked lots of great designs with a vast range of prices to suit all wedding budgets. They were accommodating to my every need and really help full along the way in fact I will miss my regular visits as all the team are great to work with. My Dress was an Essence of Australia. I was involve with the designs of these dresses as they were both elegant and beautiful, I'm not a girl who loves a lot of bling, I wanted my dress to have the wow factor but also be lady like and very less is more. My Dress gave me everything I wanted from it, my veil was borrowed how lucky am I to have a family member so willing to share such a beautiful piece which finished my look completely. My accessories for my hair were from Debenhams. I was so happy with this piece as I was not going to wear anything in my hair, due to having the veil, but it complimented everything.

Grooms Attire

Richard has been in the royal engineers for 20 years too it was important that we incorporated this into our wedding, Richard wore his number 1s and the guards men were in the 2s which gave it a real 20s feel to the wedding and it was important to me that we mixed both old and new together so they complimented each other. Our best men and groomsmen suits were from Slaters 83 Albion Street Leeds, LS1 5AP there we dealt with a Stephen Beardsley who coordinated our 11 groomsmen, who were all perfectly suited and booted. This took away any stress that could of occurred, I was truly happy with this service and everything was at hand so you could buy all things in one shop any mans dream. Our two sons also wore no 1 uniforms with miniature medals and looked exactly the same as Richard.

Venue

Our venue was chosen due to the fact that we could have the whole venue to our self, no bumping into any other brides along the way. We were married at our local parish church which with its beautiful setting and grounds it fit perfectly with our juxtaposition look bringing old and new together. From there we proceeded to Hoyle Court Baildon. The events manager there Jonathan was amazing every step of the way the whole team are so attentive and he made sure my day went perfectly. The food was amazing and we had 150 guests to the day so this was a big worry but the food was served fast and hot and everyone complimented the food. The setting of the grounds made for perfect photo opportunities. The Atmosphere was amazing outside on the terrace looking over the beautiful gardens on the perfect summers day. The venue delivered everything, great choice of drinks, fantastic grounds, amazing food and brilliant staff.

Colour Scheme

My colour scheme and decor came from my love of wild flowers such as thistles and lavender. I wanted a really soft and natural feel again bringing old and new together giving a really romantic feel to everything. So my self and my friend started pulling together a dream board to help me find my vision. Soft grey and lavender with twinkly lights and hessian were what we had to work with. My tableware were all hand sprayed mason jars and old fashion milk bottles from my friend farm. which we tied twine around to combine the colors. Without Denise I would have never pulled together my vision she really helped me to put together what was in my head.

Florist

My flowers, wow I didn't realize how much I loved flowers until I met Emma Ridgeway at Emma Wedding and Events. Wow is all I can say. I spoke of my love of wild flowers and twinges and she just did the rest. I have never seen flowers arrangements so beautiful, ever, Emma is amazing when it comes to creating that something special iI felt as thought she took my vision from my mind and she got exactly what I wanted.

Bridesmaids

My bridesmaids I have to say looked amazing thanks to Amie Wolvenden. My dress design was a Gatsby gown from Wolf & Wake. A made to measure ladies clothing boutique based in Leeds city centre. I wanted to follow through with the modern twist on the old designs and Amie’s service was just perfect for this. The girls were so professional and each of my 9 bridesmaid loved the whole process. I cannot recommend them enough as you can see from the pictures there bridesmaids looked outstanding, and I didn't worry about one thing , I chose the color and the design and Amie took over making the whole experience stress free.

Ceremony

My ceremony was beautiful I really wanted it to be the best part of the day so I made sure I filled the morning with lots of surprises. We had live music playing in the church to relax the guests which was amazing Sarah Jane Widdop came along with her guitar and played beautifully until I arrived. I walked down the isle to Tenerife seas by Ed Shearan which was sung acoustic by Sarah, a real tear jerker. The reading I chose was Corinthians 13 The Way of Love this reading means so much I love the words. It was read by my aunty which made it more personal. I also had a prayer read out by my Aunty Pamela who plays a huge role in our lives and wrote a personal prayer for our new family. As we left the church we had another surprise my good friend Jayne Chippendale accompanied Sarah and sung me out of the church the powerful sounds of You got the love. People were dancing in the aisles it was a beautiful moment I was married and all my friends and family were there dancing in the aisle I could cry remembering it.

Entertainment

Our evening entertainment was amazing. We went through Jonny Ross music and had the Young Souls who were outstanding if you are a music person then you must goggle Michael Bird the mans voice is outstanding it was like having Justin Timberlake in the room. The dance floor never emptied. I cant wait to have another do with them there, everyone was asking where to find them in the following days.

Food

My food was all provided from Hoyle Court which was outstanding. Not one bite was left over at the end of the evening.

Photography

It was really important to me that I got all my precious memories captured on the day, I had Sarah-Jane Ethan as my photographer this was one of my best decisions. My pictures are all I have left of the day and wow me every time I look at them. Every photo captures the true essence of the day, the emotions the laughter the beauty. I have never seen such beautiful work until I came across Sarah, she really did an amazing job and captured every moment. When my customers have looked at my pictures their comments are: they have never seen such amazing pics not even in the OK magazine and others have cried as they felt they could feel how special the day was in the pictures. Every wedding should be captured by Sarah in my eyes. My only regret was not having a videographer I left this too late and although I remember I would love to re-listen to our vows.
