The Photography
Emma the Bride: Jonny and Morgane were incredible – professional, friendly and just lovely to have at our day! When we got the photos of the wedding back they had everyone in tears again – they captured our day perfectly.
The Film
Lee and Dawn at
Shutterbox Films were fabulous – this was one of the first parts of the wedding we booked. Emma’s sister got married the year before and they didn’t get a video of the wedding and it was the first thing Hannah & David told us to book! The styling of the video was gorgeous mix of the vintage and modern film which worked really well. We haven’t braved watching the speeches yet – we kept it traditional and Emma’s Dad, Jordan and Jordan’s bestman his brother Lewis all did speeches before the wedding breakfast and there were tears from everyone in the room. We need boxes of tissues at the ready before we watch those!
The Bride
This was the second boutique I visited. It was the first dress I felt like ‘me’ in and not like I was playing dress up in fluffy white dresses!
Jewellery – Jordan had a diamond pendant made for me for a wedding gift by Dan, the same person who made my engagement ring and our wedding bands. I also wore my mother’s stud earrings for the ceremony and her droplet earrings for the evening.
Shoes –
Christian Louboutin Follies Strass – I tried them on in the London boutique but they didn’t have them in my size anywhere. Finally tracked down a pair in Paris and had them sent over. My wedding gift to myself!
The Flowers
Simply stunning work.
George is a good friend of my sister’s and just made all (my) floral dreams come true! Jordan was blown away on the day with how it all looked. George and I had several meetings leading up to the day to discuss what I had in mind. I absolutely adore flowers so I always knew our wedding would be full of fresh flowers in every aspect possible! The church and venue looked stunning on the day, Jordan and I didn’t see everything until the day so it was a great surprise for us both too.
The Venue
Jordan and I don’t really have a ‘base’ as such we’ve moved around a lot ever since we met. This was the second venue we saw – actually I saw! I had been to see one in London with my mum where I was living at the time. I decided to drive home to Suffolk with mum afterwards for the day and we randomly decided to drop into
Kesgrave Hall to have a look around. Jordan and I met in Ipswich, and we had been on a few dates here, and we had both always said ‘this would be a lovely place to get married’ - Jordan went to school down the road and it just had some meaning to the both of us and our families. But at the time the venue didn’t do them. I think the year before we got engaged the venue starting doing events, so when we got there we had a look around and fell in love with it instantly! Jordan was at a game that day so I couldn’t call him but I booked it there and then and told him when he got home – it was the only place he’d ever wanted to have our wedding so it felt perfect. We hired the house out in the end too for all our family to stay there over the wedding weekend too so it was very private and special for us.
The Decor
We didn’t hire a wedding planner in the end, we got most of the ideas from Pinterest and blogs and magazines and just from our own style. My mum and sisters helped lots – they all love events and creative projects too so in the end the whole day was very personal and George our florist also helped a lot with the styling of the venue.
The Groom
Jordan and his brother got their suits made by
Reiss and their shoes from Russell & Bromley.
The Stationery
I found
Paperi & Co. on Pinterest and had them shipped over from Australia. I styled them with translucent pink envelopes and my sister (Hannah Carlisle) addressed with gold calligraphy.
The Entertainment
The band were fantastic – got the party going and continuing until the early hours of the morning!
