The Photography
Ellie The Bride: I had seen some of the weddings that
Rebecca had photographed & fell in love with her relaxed style & how she was able to capture such natural & precious moments so I always knew I wanted her to be our wedding photographer! I was delighted that she was available on our date!
The Bride
Maggie Sottero 'Dante' bought from
Frilly Frocks in Barnstaple. I wanted something simple, fitted & elegant & fell in love with this dress as soon as I put it on & especially loved the buttons all the way down the back.
I knew I wanted a belt but didn't want it to be the main focus on my dress so I spent quite a bit of time online until I found
this beautiful handmade bridal belt; I wanted something delicate & unique & for it to look as though it was part of my dress rather than it being added on.
I always wanted t-bar style bridal shoes & loved the beautiful detail to these, they complimented my belt & headband perfectly. Our make up was done by Melanie O'Reilly at
Blush Bude. I'm lucky enough to have an amazing hair stylist as one of my best friends & Vicky created a pretty low 'up do'. I wanted my Bridesmaids to have similar hairstyles to me, a low, pretty 'up do' but each with a unique element such as a plait or twist. They were finished off with a small amount of Gypsophila.
The Groom & Groomsmen
We always wanted blue suits & had a light blush pink tie & pocket square to tie in with the theme. I bought the Groom a stag rose gold tie clip & stag rose gold cufflinks as a gift on our Wedding day.
Page boys - suits were from Rocco Clothing. The suits were very similar to the Groom's / Groomsmen but I liked the fact the backs of the waistcoats were a brighter blue to make them stand out slightly.
The Bridesmaids
I wanted my bridemaids in slightly different dresses to each other originally but once I saw these dresses I instantly fell in love with them! They had rose gold sequined tops with cut out, scalloped detail to the back & pretty floaty skirts & were just stunning! As I wanted all of my Bridesmaids to wear this dress, I chose to have 3 with an open back & 2 with a slightly closed back just so there was some contrast.
The Flowers
I really wanted succulents & blue thistles in my bouquets so I sent
Val some pictures that I had gathered from Pinterest & she created exactly what I had envisioned - I was blown away by my flowers & was so in love with them! I have kept all of the succulents from my bouquets & replanted them & they look stunning!
The Venue
We had been to an open day at
Launcells back in Feb 2016 & just had artist impressions to go by, to show what it would look like once all of the renovation work was completed. It was the first venue that we had visited & we both knew that there was no need to carry on looking for anywhere else, as we felt it was just perfect for us! Lara & Matt at Launcells Barton were absolutely amazing from the moment we first met them right up to & on our wedding day. They helped everything run so smoothly & are the most lovely couple, nothing was ever too much trouble.
The Ceremony
We had our hearts set on an outside wedding & so we got married in the walled garden, the wooden arbour was draped beautifully & had flowers to each side & centre. No readings or hymns were read / sung as neither of us are religious, we wanted it to be no fuss but still beautiful all the same. Our 3 children, Kalem, Riley & Harper (page boys & flower girl) walked down the isle with the bridesmaids...Harper carried a small bouquet, Kalem carried the rings & Riley carried a wooden sign that said 'Daddy, here comes Mummy!'
We got our rings from the same local jewellers in Bude,
Alchemist, where we bought my engagement ring from.
I have a thin palladium band in the same style as my engagement ring with 12 diamonds set in it & it has a small cut out so they fit together perfectly. The groom has a yellow gold band. Our rings were carried in a small hexagon glass & copper trinket box, sat on green foliage & gypsophila.
The Décor
We had our reception in the newly built Events barn at Launcells Barton. I wanted a rose gold / blush & grey / geometric style. My rose gold geometric lanterns for the centre pieces & rose gold geometric shapes for the table décor were from Masons Du Monde & were sat on light grey table runners & had flowers & foliage in amongst them. We had pretty paper lanterns in white, grey, cream & blush pink above the tables & twinkly lights around the beams & dotted around in jars. We had help setting everything up from our bridesmaids - Aimee, Jessica, Carly, Paula & Zoe & best man, Rich & his wife, Sophie.
The Cake
Hannah knew exactly what we wanted once we had our consultation & our cake matched perfectly with our theme - a blush pink top tier, white & geometric rose gold tier, a grey marble effect tier & a pretty white ruffled bottom tier.
we had 'Forever' laser cut from wood in rose gold & succulents to match the bouquets.
The Food
We knew quite a few people that Oaktree Occasions had catered for & they came highly recommended! They certainly did not disappoint! We had canapes served outside on the lawn from 1.45pm & then a sit down, 3 course meal was at 4pm. It all looked & tasted amazing! Especially the trio of desserts!!
The Entertainment
As our wedding was very child orientated we wanted some fun activities to keep the little ones happy! The bouncy castle was such a hit (and not just with the little ones!) We also chose to have crazy golf as well so as to have something a little different! I purchased a bubble machine for outside on the lawn & giant 'naughts & crosses' so there was lots to do to keep everyone entertained! Our DJ was
Love Weddings Cornwall. They also supplied us with uplighters to light up the inside of the events barn for the evening so that it looked totally different from the daytime.
Special Touches
We wanted a really relaxed day so provided our guests with blankets to sit on on the lawn so the could enjoy the beautiful sunshine with a glass of pimms, prosecco or cloudy lemonade. We had a guestbook but also had a black & rose gold spinning globe for everyone to sign with a metallic pen. I made the signs myself & bought some lovely copper frames to put them in.
We had a beautiful 'family ladder' in the entrance so that we could have pictures of our immediate families on their wedding days. Especially sentimental to us as some of those pictured in the photos are sadly no longer with us.
My friend, Lisa Kepple from '
Toppings and Tiaras' has an icecream van called Dotty so she came our wedding & supplied both alcoholic & non-alcoholic icecreams & sorbets for the guests, which went down amazingly well! Something a little different & perfect to enjoy in the sunshine!
I wanted something a little different for the name places so I had everyone's names lasercut in wood and then I sprayed them all rose gold. For favours - the men had mini mason jars filled with Cornish cider with rose gold lids & the ladies had an alcohol inspired lipbalm each in various flavours such as pink prosecco, mango mojito & elderflower gin! The children had personalised activity packs & pretty lace paper windmills.
