Kieran and Michael's wedding at Deer Park County House in Devon was full of all those good emotions. Despite the light rain, the couple still had their dream outdoor ceremony with an Italian twist! With their Dog of Honour as ring bearer, personal vows and readings, and timely stopping of the rain right as the couple were announced as husbands, this day is just magical. The day had a sophisticated and traditional feeling with a black tie dress code and stunning dusky blue groomsmaid dresses. Kieran and Michael's wedding will surely be remembered as a unique and special day filled with love, laughter, and resilience.
Get the big ticket items booked nice and early, having this done will allow you to feel more in control. Be prepared with items that you may require on the day. For example, with an outdoor ceremony, it may be a good idea to have ordered a supply of both umbrellas and handheld fans. If you don't use them you can send them back after the wedding! Ensure you have plenty of people around in the morning that will be available to help with tasks, the morning will fly by and you'll want to enjoy the build-up.
Kieran & Michael
The Italian Gardens at the Deer Park Country House wedding venue contributed to an Italian theme for Kieran & Michael’s wedding. The couple had Italian welcome drinks, homemade limoncello favours and wood-fired pizzas in the olive garden. Bellissima! The Dog of Honour, Theo, delivered the rings to the couple in a bespoke leather pouch on his collar. The grooms wouldn't have dreamed of excluding him from their wedding day, and we’re so glad they didn’t! At their ceremony, the couple wrote their own wedding vows and had two readings, which were Maybe by Anon and To Love Is Not To Possess by James Kavanaugh. It was raining lightly in the morning but as soon as Kieran & Michael were pronounced as husbands, the rain stopped! As they say, rainy wedding days signify a long marriage as a 'wet knot' is harder to untie.
Kieran & Michael requested that all attendees wear black tie and not just the wedding party. The couple really wanted to ensure that the day had a classic and timeless feeling that was shared by everyone. Plus, everyone looks and feels great in a tuxedo or those stunning dusky blue groomsmaid dresses! They ended the wedding breakfast with a toast to Michael's grandparents, who had celebrated their Diamond wedding anniversary only 2 days prior! Aww! There were more personal touches with a fingerprint guestbook. The photographers, Simon and Kiana, had already edited 20 photos, by 2 am for the couple to wake up to the following morning. Little did they know, that Kieran & Michael were still up partying until 4 am. It’s safe to say, they enjoyed their day to the max!
Our first dance was an old-school choice, Strangers In The Night by Frank Sinatra. We've agreed that wherever we are during our lives, if we hear this song play we must get up and dance.
