This town hall wedding was one we had to share because this couple totally understood our ethos about weddings. It’s your day, your way at Rock My Wedding and Daisy & Jered did exactly that. The couple tied the knot at Oxford Town Hall before gathering in a pub for their wedding breakfast and reception. During the reception, the couple had a band, Fairport Convention playing. Jered's dad was a member of Fairport as the lead guitarist for many years before he sadly passed away in 2018. The band have always felt more like family and they offered to play as the couple’s wedding present. The guests loved it and it was the perfect start to the party. The day was captured by Recommended Supplier, Twigs Branch Photography. The couple’s epic confetti moment was thanks to Recommended Supplier, Flutter, Darlings! Our wonderful photographer, Paul, from Twigs Branch Photography has this incredible talent for putting you at ease. We've now got our photos back and we can't believe how incredible they are. He seems to have an innate ability to capture the moment and people's personalities through the camera lens. We'd wholeheartedly recommend him.
Daisy & Jered
Daisy & Jered’s wedding day was unique because many of the suppliers involved in creating their wedding day were friends. If the couple couldn’t find something they wanted, they made it themselves! Some of their favourite parts of the wedding day were based on personal moments. During the first dance, Daisy’s brother and one of the bridesmaids let off two confetti canons at the crescendo of their first dance song, Constant Headache by Joyce Manor. As a wedding gift to Daisy, Jered also commissioned a music box that played this song and doubled as a ring box. How thoughtful!
The couple describes the vibe of their day as relaxed and fun. Daisy & Jered wanted the day to feel like a true reflection of their style and personalities. So, having the reception in a pub with a seasonal menu and autumnal flowers for their October wedding felt like the perfect option. The wedding was chic and vibrant in style with a lot of the decor being DIY. This meant a lot of design work, experimentation and planning happened in the months prior to the wedding. The decor of The Anchor was similar to Daisy & Jered’s vision which made it easy to focus on the detail.
Take your time, be organised and remember that it's YOUR wedding. You can be easily influenced by family members, friends and suppliers, which can feel like a lot of pressure. Just stay true to what you want. Making time to spend with your partner on the day is not a selfish thing to do. And even if it was, it's your wedding - the day is literally about you! Also, confetti takes a LONG time to separate properly from the manufacturing process. Give yourself a few evenings to make sure that it's done properly because it's worth the effort.
