Rebecca & Tom married at Culden Faw Estate with riverside tipis from Recommended supplier, Stunning Tents Company, to celebrate their reception. Food and drink were priorities for this couple, so they had gin stations on every table and used lots of local suppliers to make this day perfect for them. Including Recommended supplier, Sassy's Sugar Doughnuts for their wedding cake! The couple had Recommended supplier, Benjamin Stuart Photography capturing their fun and relaxed day and Recommended supplier, Event Flag Hire Company for their flag decor! Ensuring everything went to plan, Rebecca & Tom had Recommended supplier, One Curious Dream for on-the-day coordination.
I have two favourite moments including the most beautiful walk through Henley on the Thames to the church with my Dad. We had time to talk and I listened to his advice on married life. It was beautiful to share a few last moments together as father and daughter. My second was the boat trip, my husband and I took up the Thames to our reception. We chose to travel separately to our guests, so we could really soak up the moment of just being married and spend some time just the two of us before the day really started.
Rebecca & Tom
All the guests walked to our church service, which was followed by a boat trip up the Thames to Rebecca & Tom's picturesque riverside tipi reception at Culden Faw Estate. As they chose a dry-hire wedding venue, the couple could craft a day personal to them. They chose all the drinks and food. The wine, gin, and food were very important choices to them (we love the priorities!). Alongside table wine, Rebecca & Tom had gin stations on the tables, stocked with their own distilled gin. They placed a real focus on working with local suppliers. Rebecca & Tom used Rock My Wedding to help and had 5 of our Recommended suppliers in their day! They were very proud to bring together a host of local suppliers.
The overall vibe was relaxed but elegant. Having both grown up in Henley and attended the Regatta and Henley Festival, Rebecca & Tom took inspiration from them both. They loved the idea of tipis on the riverbank but didn't want it to feel rustic. The couple chose fresh spring flowers to decorate and used key pieces at both the church and then transported them to Culden Faw Estate. The couple used greenery to decorate the tables and added balloons for more depth and colour inside. Festoon lights lit up the walkways and with some carefully placed up-lighters, they illuminated the river bank once the sun had set. They had one of our fave religious readings in their ceremony, Corinthians 13:1-13.
Decide at the beginning what is most important to you and it can't be everything. We started with this and settled on the drink choices and location. Only a dry-hire wedding was going to be suitable for us due to the corkage charges most venues had. From there, we were able to budget and plan. We would also say to anyone having a dry-hire wedding, to look at an on-the-day coordinator. Jo was our wedding fairy godmother, she minimized the stress on the days before and ensured our entire day went smoothly.
