We're kicking off the festivities with this Christmas wedding inspiration by Esme Whiteside Photography. There is cosy candlelight, 'snowfetti' and a killer sequin dress. Because no holiday season is complete without a bit of sparkle.
Stylish and classy festive Christmas wedding inspiration.
Inspiration & Styling
Think festive, but super classy, and lots of sparkles. I wanted to do Christmas but in a sophisticated and elegant colour palette. Sarah at Stories of Events styled the venue, we opted for blushes and warm mauve tones, paired with Hygge bare Christmas trees, faux fur rugs, a vintage sleigh, baubles, loads of candles, hot chocolate and punch station, and even a sprinkling of snow. Sarah did an incredible job - there was no detail too small, and whilst the styling was more is more - it wasn't fussy. Sarah even foraged a branch to hang above the table - which was the perfect finishing wow feature. Emma Cox on florals blew me away, as usual, using the same colour palette, she created an installation for the ceremony which grew up the windows and complimented the space amazingly, it really was breathtaking, without taking attention away from the windows. The two bouquets were works of art, featuring tulips and anemones, they were just showstopping - every stem was beautiful and had a purpose. The table featured antique bowls filled with Emma's beautiful blooms, and I'm obsessed with what she and Sarah created together.Esme Whiteside Photography
The Hidden River Cabins and Wedding Barn is such an incredible venue with feature crittall windows to allow light to flood in. Although it is a large open space, it is full of character and especially perfect for autumn/winter styling, or in this case Christmas wedding inspiration. It really gives off ski chalet vibes, and lent itself perfectly to the Hygge influences.
Fashion & Beauty
The gowns for the shoot were by Rose Savage (silver sequin gown) and Emma Beaumont Atelier (sparkle ballgown and applique fitted gown). They were all incredibly beautiful. Roses' gown sparkled in the light of the venue, and was perfectly festive! The cut and movement of the gown meant Jo could twirl and create some beautiful motion, and the sleeves and open back were gorgeous flattering features. I've been wanting to shoot Emma Beaumont's designs for a long time - and they didn't disappoint. Both gowns were stunning, we used the sparkle ballgown for the ceremony area, which was so feminine with its sweetheart neckline and incredible detail. And the fit and flare for the reception area - this fit Jo so beautifully, and the applique and train were just amazing. Nala and Knot created two looks on Jo, and one on solo bride Robyn. For Jo, we went with the feminine baby doll pink bow, with a half up and hair down textured hairstyle, and neutral pink glowy makeup. For the second look, the girls opted for super sleek to compliment the gown, and a modern chic headband, with a statement red lip. Robyn's hair was braided and pinned, up to show off her beautiful freckles, and blueliner to compliment her hair. Nat and Laura did an incredible job, and I loved the looks created.Esme Whiteside Photography
Extras!
Kelly at The Little Kendal Cakery made the most beautiful three-tier wedding cake, in whites and burgundies, adorned with figs, and Emma's blooms. This accompanied a trio of mini cakes, biscuits, and a stack of vegan brownies. These looked so inviting and cosy, especially on the styled Christmas dessert station! Natasha at Mama Inc provided the beautiful stationery, this featured a burgundy and cream colour palette, anemones that matched the flowers, with cursive text and pops of black - it tied the table together beautifully! Adam Apple provided the 'snowfetti', which made the best snow confetti shots! It's biodegradable and floated around Jo and Keiran like the real deal. Jo and Keiran were amazing models - with a real authentic connection and were perfect for the shoot. Robyn our solo bride looked like a dream and modelled the ballgown and bouquet beautifully.Esme Whiteside Photography
