The Wedding
Charlotte the Bride: I wanted something local to where I lived and had been recommended by a friend.
Amorae Bridal are a small family run business with some gorgeous dresses which I hadn't seen in other London stores. They were so accommodating making amendments and pinning my dress only 24 hours before my flight. They also stayed late at the shop as there was a crash on the motorway and I was delayed by four hours to pick my dress up. By the time I got there is was 11:00pm and I cant thank them enough for ensuring I had my dress for my flight the next day !
The Grooms Attire
We were looking for a more relaxed dress code and the suites all came in the right sizes (small fitted to tall X-Large, I left Nav to it and they all looked gorgeous on the day including my dad.
The Venue
Our venue was
Casa Del Rio, we looked at this venue the year before with wedding planner
Rachel Rose Weddings in September 2015 and we just adored it. Old Spanish Villa on top of a mountain what's not to like?
Colour Scheme/Décor
I had seen a few things on Pinterest and knew I always wanted a garden rustic theme with white lace, bark/wood and wild flowers but really went on Claire's advise and the end result was even better then I had seen via Pinterest.
Flowers/Florist
Button holes and flowers were absolutely beautiful
The Wedding Party Fashion
Again the bridesmaids dresses were all from
ASOS and varied in style and colour as they were all different shapes and sizes. This really worked well on the day as I was slightly apprehensive but the main thing was each bridesmaid was comfortable and they looked stunning on the day.
The flower girl dress was from
Monsoon and the page boys wore a shirt and shorts with braces from Zara. Shoes all came from Debenhams. My Nephew George looked super cute.
Ceremony
We had a poem and one reading, the words were slightly tailored to Nav and I, read by Emily Briggs and Lucy Porter - Yes I'll marry you my dear by Pam Ayres and a personalised reading which made us all cry delivered by my friend Alison Sullivan
Entertainment
Rachel recommend a list of bands which we viewed on you tube and the
Q Band had a strong vocalist who we thought could get everyone up and dancing and my gosh did everyone get up and dance that night!! Not everyone can belt out Tina Turner but they did and the guests including my mum couldn't stop dancing. The dancing finished at 1:00am with everyone diving in the pool and singing until 2:30am.
Food
I wanted to ensure all guests had enough food throughout the day as there was plently of alcohol with the welcome drinks, after ceremony drinks, cocktail hour around the pool, dinner and then an open bar again in the evening. No one ended up too drunk as there was always food provided for all our guests including children. We selected the three course bronze menu with a selection of 2 starters, 3 mains and 2 desserts with canapés straight after the ceremony and then midnight snacks.
Photographer
Radka wasn't actually out 1st choice and was our second however it was meant to be as Rachel had suggested her as a strong 2nd option as the photographer we had selected was already booked on our day.
Videographer
I wish we had booked one as I would have loved to have looked back on the day as it was so amazing !!
