Miranda and Jonas encompass our ethos Your Day You Way. Starting their day off with an emotional Catholic wedding ceremony, followed by a classic black time wedding reception at Syon Park. They incorporate Ghanaian drummers and handmade honey jars to honour their heritage and named each one of their tables after their favourite Drake songs. All of the love, fun and fashion was captured by Michael Maurer Photography including my favourite of Miranda and Jonas giggling in the drawing-room.
What Made Our Day Unique
Whilst maintaining a traditional air of a black-tie wedding, we ensured that we included indications of our Ghanaian heritage. This was provided by way of traditional Ghanaian drummers who performed during our cocktail hour and table-settings in form of handmade Ghanaian honey jars, which we hand-finished with traditional “Kente” cloth. Finally our wedding goody bags including personalised bars of Ghanaian chocolate, handmade “Bolga” fans and “Kente” cloth notebooks.Miranda & Jonas
Inline with their cultural heritage, Miranda and Jonas incorporated a variety of music genres into their black-tie wedding including Ghanaian Hiplife, 90s RnB, Hip Hop and Funky House, as well as traditional organ hymns and classical music during their catholic wedding ceremony. Being huge fans of Drake, they decided to name their tables after their favourite tracks and when that track was played the whole table had to down a shot. Genius!
Inspiration & Styling
We had always envisioned our wedding being a classy affair with both ourselves and our guests exuding refinement. Accordingly, we opted for a strictly Black Tie affair. Ladies in full-length gowns and cocktail dresses, Gentlemen in tuxedos (they were even provided with a link to the “Debrett’s Guide To Black Tie” beforehand).Miranda & Jonas
When it came to choosing their wedding suppliers Miranda and Jonas conducted thorough research. They read reviews and sent them a lot of emails, asking a multitude of questions before booking them. You can now do all this and more on our recommended venues and supplier directory. Check it out to see if any of our suppliers can help you plan your day.
