Cat & Ross didn’t want a big extravagant wedding or anything that felt too traditional. Tunnels Beaches in Devon was the perfect venue and location for something bohemian and intimate. Cat has always loved the boho style. It has a big influence on her home and wardrobe style. Cat is also a creative designer and DIY’d the wedding signs and table names to help stick to their wedding budget and add to that boho handmade feel! All of this was captured by the lovely and talented Recommended Supplier, Alexa Poppe Photography. We haven’t even touched on that gorgeous Rue de Seine wedding dress! Let’s get into the rest of this incredible day…
I knew I wanted dried flowers as they will last and I wanted to have them up in our home afterwards as decor. It’s lovely to have something in the house that reminds us of our special day every time we walk past them.
Cat & Ross
Cat & Ross tied the knot at Tunnels Beaches in Devon. The couple actually stayed in two houses right next to the venue the night before the wedding with half of their wedding party. This meant the couple had time to socialise with the guests before the wedding. They weren’t worried about socialising with everyone on the day and they could soak in every minute! Cat & Ross kept things intimate with 50 guests in total. Included in the guests, were kids and the couple’s beloved pet dogs! To keep the kids entertained, there were little wedding packs for kids at the dinner table and with the accommodation being next door, any guests with little ones could easily pop back for anything they needed. The beach location was also great for kids with many having a little paddle. Ice creams and a marshmallow fire pit also helped! The groomsmen and kids were in charge of entertaining the dogs who were so tired from the excitement of the day they slept for the whole evening. Bless them!
Finding a wedding dress is something that Cat always thought she would struggle with. She has quite a specific style and felt like all dresses looked the same with a princess-like silhouette. Cat knew that she didn’t want sparkles or flowery lace and she absolutely loves to dance. So, naturally, she wanted something that felt comfortable to move in. Cat actually always imagined she’d go for a plain simple silk dress with a low back, but when she tried these dresses on, she didn’t get that special feeling. Cat turned to Pinterest and came across some boho wedding dress styles. After some researching and scrolling, Cat stumbled into a bridal boutique that sold one of the wedding dress styles she had on her Pinterest board. It was a Rue de Seine dress and it was like nothing Cat had seen before. She tried on a few dresses and then finally tried on that iconic Rue de Seine dress and it felt like a second skin. It was so comfortable and Cat can’t resist a tassel (neither can we)!
Try to give your wedding party specific tasks to help with on the day, so you don’t need to worry. Give a member of the party you trust a list of the suppliers, their contact details and time of arrival so they can chase them if they have not arrived on time.
