Abi & Tom’s wedding at Callow Hall is truly a family affair with plenty of friends and family helping out where they could! Abi has had her wedding dress saved on her Pinterest board since she was sixteen! It was the first dress she tried on and she loved it just as much as she did at sixteen. This couple met at the gym so their day was all about good food and snacks. Capturing the day was Recommended supplier, Carrie Lavers Photography. The couple also chose popular green bridesmaid dresses from Recommended supplier, Rewritten Bridesmaids and their wedding band from Recommended supplier, Entertainment Nation.
The stress will be worth it. Everyone will say ‘don’t get stressed’, which isn’t helpful at all, because you’re going to get stressed if you’re planning it yourself - it’s inevitable. Just try and remember why you’re planning it. At the end of the day, if it all went wrong, you’re still going to end the day married to your best friend. Also, friends WANT to help so try and delegate where you can. They also want to provide something for the day if they can. Groomsman Stu provided the car and our friends, Kate and Tracey, made our wedding cake and cupcakes.
Abi & Tom
Abi & Tom spend a lot of their time in the great outdoors. Therefore, the 'Garden Room' at Callow hall was the perfect choice for their ceremony. It makes it feel like the outside with its glass walls and inside trees. The colour scheme was green, with LOTS of greenery everywhere including those stunning green bridesmaid dresses. Abi & Tom used our Recommended suppliers and Instagram inspiration to plan their day. They also relied on a lot of their friends. The marquee, cakes, transport, and aloe vera favours are all sourced from friends and family. The evening food was from Brunch’d, which is a cafe in the gym where they met. The whole vibe was chill and relaxed. Abi & Tom didn’t want everyone to feel like they were being ushered about all day, so they planned lots of time for mingling (and snacking).
Because Abi & Tom met at the gym and both eat well, Greek street food was an obvious choice. They also had a grazing table made by a friend from the gym. The couple were conscious of people getting hungry so they had snacks available at all times! Their favourite snack is cereal, which is the inspiration behind the ‘Cereal Bar’. Everyone could get a bowl in order to prevent 'hanger'. To keep with the outdoor theme, Abi climbed her mum's silver birch the day before and did some ‘pruning’. She added the branches to the entrance and they look so good! The couple did a lot of DIY overall. All the flowers, signs, table and marquee decor, and bridesmaid pj’s were done by Abi. Tom spent hours cutting table runners into napkins. He also mowed and raked Abi’s mum and stepdad’s field where the reception was held.
The car journey from the ceremony to the reception was so much fun - Stu had put in some champagne and a headscarf so my hair didn’t get wrecked in the wind (the Jeep has no sides). Stu drove as Tom and I drank champagne whilst waving at passersby! And we have to mention the party. After the first dance, it went DOWN! The band were really good at getting everyone on the dance floor (which is why we chose them). We wanted a big party and that’s what we got. Everyone drank and danced the night away.
