California Elopement With Pronovias Wedding Dress & Coral Bouquet

Photography by Ariele Chapman Photography
Knowing that Hannah and Joseph just wanted to be married despite all the uncertainty at the moment fills our hearts with joy. Unable to go to Italy as planned they opted for an intimate California elopement, just them, their photographer Ariele Chapman Photography and their celebrant Lydia Christine. They got dressed in their original wedding attire (which is incredible), said their vows next to a wooden altar decorated in coral flowers (also incredible), and took a stroll along the beach to capture some amazing coastal portraits. COVID: 0 - Love: 1!

What Made Our Day Unique

From a dream-worthy elopement on the Amalfi coast along the Mediterranean to the coastal mountainside town of Big Sur in Northern California - we traversed the globe to make our love story come true. After Europe was shut down, my husband and I strategised how to reach the same aesthetic feel and beauty stateside, and arrived at a beautiful vineyard venue along the rocky northern coast of the Pacific Ocean for our intimate elopement. We were elated that this change of plans enabled us to use our favourite and preferred photographer Ariele Chapman, and the stunning pictures and domestic venue added some benefits that made our big day all the more magical. We are overly grateful for our blessings and perseverance to get married in 2020, and ecstatic with all of our pictures and breathtaking memories we will hold forever !

California Elopement

We've been lucky enough to feature elopements all over the world. Whilst this is definitely our first California elopement, we hope it won't be our last. Hannah and Joseph who had originally planned to get married on the Amalfi coast in Italy swapped their Mediterranean wedding for an intimate coastal ceremony in Big Sur. But not only did it mean they could book their favourite photographer Ariele Chapman Photography it also meant that they would be married, which is all they wanted during this difficult time.

Inspiration & Styling

Elegant/boho. I had my father in law build us an arch that we were able to travel to Big Sur with. We hung gorgeous florals on the arch!! One of my favourite moments was holding hands in the doorway when Joe and I read letters to each other. It calmed my nerves being able to squeeze his hand. My mother lives in Florida and flew out to California to help me find a dress. The first dress I tried on was a GORGEOUS pronovias gown and that's the one I ended up buying! I was so happy I was able to share that moment with my mom.

Advice

Let love win! Despite getting married during COVID-19 we wanted to get married no matter what. We didn't care anymore about all the "wedding things" decor etc. We just wanted the bare minimum and to be married. It turned out to be the best day of my life!
