VISION
The team wanted to create a vibrant eye-catching floral theme, taking the natural backdrop of the apple orchard in full bloom and adding to it with beautiful flowers and floral fabrics. The idea being to create a decadent vibe at this gorgeous new venue in Cheshire, Duddon Mill Farm.
FLORAL DESIGN
"The incredible florals were created by local florist Heather Ryder of Living Colour. Heather weaved her magic throughout, from the loose hand-tied bouquet with its maximal palette of colour, patterned orchids and textures to the decadent tablescape and the Pinterest worthy floral wedding shoes! She also dressed the setting with apple crates as a nod to the apple orchard, with candles sprinkled throughout the flowers in rich navy and burgundy reds. All against the contrasting backdrop of the white apple blossom." - Claire Penn
VENUE
"Duddon Mill Farm is a hidden gem, located in the Cheshire countryside. The venue is run by two families who share a passion for both entertaining and outdoor life. The venue is so naturally beautiful, with mature apple orchards, pond, barns and a stream running right through the middle of the estate, there are endless photo opportunities for lovers of the outdoors, we were spoilt for choice at the shoot. It’s the perfect setting for Tipi weddings, marquee weddings or any other outdoor events, with its expanse of beautiful rural fields." - Claire Penn
DETAILS
"The tablescape under the trees was created using gorgeous velvet flower fabric, stunning stationery with accent napkins and luxurious geometric patterned table wear. The stationery was created by Knock Knock Penny Studio, with cutlery, glass wear and plate wear from Whitehouse Crockery. The gorgeous cake, which had a lovely artisanal vibe to it, in a nod to the rustic setting, was again decadent in its colour and topped with an abundance of flowers almost as big as the cake itself. It was the creation of wonderful Love Rosie Cakes." - Claire Penn
FASHION
"Nicole wore a selection of dresses by British bridal wear brand Shikoba Bride. Known for its cool boho styles, we loved putting the dresses is a boho setting, the farm, but mixing up the look with lots of glamorous touches. The dresses looked stunning against the apple blossom. Clare from Harry Jon created Nicole’s look. She created three hairstyles, a lovely wavy loose look, then to complement the second dress, a half updo and then a stunning full updo with flowers in her hair. Each different but perfectly suited the glamorous, rustic feel of the setting. Nicole’s make up was elegant too and with beautiful colour, tones to match the flowers and colours of the day. Clare subtly picked up on colours and brief, changing Nicole’s lip colour to match throughout the day, from a pretty natural light mauve to a striking aubergine red tone. Oli’s looks were supplied by Whitfield and Ward, again going with the maximalist feel, his look is perfectly extrovert. A very smart burgundy suit with a paisley tie and pocket square, adding to the layered patterned fabric of the shoot. Then a gorgeous checked jacket that matched the patterns in the orchids in Nicola’s bouquet. Finally a smart dinner jacket, totally elegant." - Claire Penn
