Alice & Ian married at a gorgeous Recommended venue, Dewsall Court, and also had beautiful burgundy satin bridesmaid dresses, so you already know they have good taste. Plus, we adore golden hour couple portraits and Alice & Ian have absolutely nailed theirs. Seriously, they should be hung in a museum because our jaws have dropped to the floor thanks to Recommended photographer, Harry Michael Photography. The couple also arranged their gift list with Recommended supplier, Prezola.
We really wanted our day to be a reflection of us and yes, I know, everyone says that! But we really thought long and hard about who we are as a couple, what that means to us, and what that means to our loved ones. We didn't want this to be 'just another wedding'. We wanted everyone to think "of course, they chose that piece of music," "of course, she's worn her hair like that," and "of course, he picked that wine." Every little detail of our day was a conscious choice.
Alice & Ian
The ceremony was a big highlight of Alice & Ian's day. Alice's favourite moment was seeing Ian's shoulders bob up and down as he tried to hold in his sobs as she walked down the aisle. We also may or may not have happy tears because Alice looked breathtaking in her Emmy Mae bridal gown. The little moments when it was just the couple together like waiting to enter the wedding breakfast or sharing a glass of fizz together right after the ceremony, were very special to them. Looking at these pictures, we absolutely have to say their day looks PERFECT! Those burgundy satin bridesmaid dresses make such a statement amongst the light styling and immense flowers
Alice & Ian both really wanted the overall aesthetic to be like Soho Farmhouse/The Pig Hotel. They love that modern/traditional mismatch style that looks so effortless and timeless. Holly, from Wonderlust Events, completely nailed the decor and the wonderful Jen at Liberty Lane created the most incredible flowers that just transformed the entire space and filled it with love and beauty. The couple considered every detail for their wedding. Even the stag emblem on the wedding stationery was a nod to their engagement in Richmond Park - just after Alice said 'yes', a stag walked out behind them.
Despite having been together for almost 15 years, the couple didn't have a song that they could call theirs. However, being huge rom-com fans, and more specifically 'Notting Hill' fans, Alice walked down the aisle to 'She' by Elvis Costello. For their first dance, they wanted to choose a song that they would hear again and again - whether it was whilst shopping at the supermarket or sipping cocktails in a bar. So, Alice & Ian chose Tina Turner's 'The Best’. It certainly isn't your traditional slow number, but tradition is overrated! As we always say, your day your way! Alice's parents arranged for a surprise performance from the West End Singing Waiters and seeing everyone dancing on their chairs, swinging their napkins and singing at the top of their voices was priceless for the couple.
Remember this day is about you and your partner. No one else. Don't let anyone else's opinions, ideas or thoughts about your day blur your vision. Trust your suppliers (they are experts for a reason) and make sure everything you do is for the two of you. Try and be as organised as possible to minimise the worry.
