Bridal Cape... Not Just For Superheroes

Photography by Poppy Carter Portraits

There's nothing we love more than a beautiful accessory here at Rock My Wedding, so when the bridal cape started to make a comeback we were all delighted! Your wedding day is absolutely the day to be completely extra, and there's nothing more extra than a bridal cape. Whether you go waist length, floor length, or steal the show in a ground sweeping number, we've rounded up our favourite bridal capes on real brides. We've divided them up into lace, sheer, plain and statement. Not just for superheroes, the bridal cape is back...

The best way to add style and confidence is with a bridal cape!

Lace Bridal Capes

Lace bridal capes definitely add a little something but, as you can see from the real brides below,  lace designs add elegance rather than just seeming totally extra. With a subtle sheer lace design, your bridal look is elevated. If you need to budget and decide to save on your wedding dress, and go for a simple satin or low-back wedding dress but want to dress it up a little, a cape would be such a good option.

Sheer Bridal Cape

The sheer bridal cape is similar to a wedding veil. It can be any length you choose, but unlike a veil, which can be annoying to have pinned to your head, a sheer bridal cape can elegantly drape across your shoulders instead. It looks absolutely stunning in these images from our real weddings.

Plain Bridal Capes

Want to add something to your look but not take away from your dress? Then plain bridal capes might be a better option for you. Looking at these images of our brides, you can see that the plain cape adds coverage (great for winter weddings or more conservative brides). If you're going for a plain cape don't forget you can use other accessories to pair with it. Think cool hats, fabulous clutch bags, or a bright bouquet.

Statement Bridal Cape

Have we saved the best for last? Well, if you want drama and extravagance then we definitely have. This statement accessory adds colour, glitz, glamour or pretty patterns. We've gathered tassels, sequins and embroidered designs to show you how these stylish brides did it. Bridal capes don't have to be traditional, plain, or sheer and this inspiration proves it!
