The Inspiration
Polly at Fern & Field: Inspired by the painting Bartolomeo Guidobono, Allegory of Spring and a family link to an Edwardian interest in Botany, through my Great Great Grandfather Charles Hoddle who in 1911 grew unusual plants {of the time} such as orchids in his glasshouse. Included in the shoot are a number of family heirlooms including an antique gold Rolex, christening cup and envelopes given to my mother by her grandfather.
Shot at Pookwell Lake at our venue
Farnell Farm. We used foliage from the surroundings, such as ferns, wild honeysuckle and apple blossom. The choice of flowers were inspired by the kind you would have found in a Edwardian garden. All British Flowers, supplied and grown less than three miles from the venue on
Blue Hen flower farm, then arranged lovingly by
Girl Flower.
Hair styling and the inclusion of flowers was inspired by Edwardian weddings and paintings by Bartolomeo Guidobono.
Livvy has managed to capture the antique warmth, which I hope you will agree beautifully flows through the shots.
