The vibe for Ellie & David's wedding at Babington House was relaxed, informal and fun! The goal was a stylish, elegant and low-stress wedding where everyone could focus on enjoying themselves. The couple wanted all the guests to stay overnight to remove any worry about accommodation or travel and create a relaxed atmosphere. Styling was inspired by Babington House with a focus on timeless elegance. Recommended supplier, Sam Docker, was responsible for capturing all the fun yet elegant moments of this day and has done an incredible job. The couple also had Recommended suppliers, Papier, to create their stationery and Prezola for their gift list.
Don't worry about the small things! Having to postpone our wedding 4 times due to covid put everything in perspective. What's most important is getting married. Make everything as low-stress as possible, even if it means spending a little more on experienced suppliers, childcare etc. It will pay back dividends and you can focus on enjoying yourself! Do things meaningful to you as a couple, rather than just following tradition. On the day, try and steal a few moments as a couple, stay calm and remember to take it in - it all goes by so fast!
Ellie & David
Ellie & David were fortunate enough to have all their guests stay overnight at Babington House. With a free bar, great food, and no curfew, the venue was perfect for partying the night away. Plus, Babington House offered many services including catering, drinks, DJ/entertainment/lighting, and event planning. They also created that delicious chocolate naked wedding cake too! Ellie & David chose other suppliers from the venue's list, including a nanny for the day. The fact that Babington House offered so many services in-house was perfect for the couple because they wanted to keep the stress and decision-making to a complete minimum.
During the ceremony, the couple had I Love You by Roy Croft as one of their readings. David is a composer and composed an original piece of music for the bridal procession, played by a string quartet. He also recorded a medley of Prince songs for their first dance together. For the evening, Ellie & David had customised cocktails themed to their personalities, and an oompah band in lederhosen playing throughout the reception. There was also pretty white wedding lanterns that created the perfect backdrop for the drinks reception. Being able to catch up the next morning over brunch with a swim topped off the perfect 24 hours at Babington House.
David: My favourite moment has to be first seeing Ellie walking down the aisle. There's nothing that prepares you for that and it literally took my breath away. Everything about that moment was perfect.
Ellie: For me, walking down the aisle and finally getting married in front of all our friends and family after waiting so long was one of my favourite moments. The little moments we had just the two of us during the day were also really special. Everyone dancing to the oom-pah band during the drinks reception and getting up to dance at the bar in the evening were also highlights.
