A classic black tie wedding with white and blush florals, green bridesmaid dresses, and a 3D floral applique wedding dress...Is there anything better?! Lauren & Tom wanted their wedding to be personal. As Tom’s family owned a dairy, the couple included original milk bottles, milk churns and crates throughout the decor. They also had handmade wedding favours and a table plan with funny photos of every guest! Plus, the couple had biodegradable confetti from Recommended supplier, Shropshire Petals. Providing the entertainment for this wedding was Recommended supplier, Alive Network. Lauren & Tom also chose Recommended supplier, Prezola, for their gift list.
Take time out with your partner to take it all in. It all goes so quickly so it's nice to guarantee you'll have some time just the two of you! Get a good photographer who has photographed in different types of weather and who is good at capturing emotion and making you feel comfortable. Get LOADS of confetti. Consider having sparklers, even if it's summer as they were so much fun and the photos are great! Finally, espresso martinis instead of tea and coffee after dinner are great for counteracting the post-dinner lull..! The dance floor was full all night!
Lauren & Tom
The vibe for Lauren & Tom's wedding was relaxed and rustic as well as glam and elegant. There was an abundance of roses and peonies with dried grasses and eucalyptus in blush, sage, gold and neutral tones. The couple chose to have satin bridesmaid dresses in green, which was the perfect choice for their setting in Stow-on-the-Wold. Lauren & Tom had the groomsmen in black tie, which created a fun contrast with the rustic countryside setting. The cute two-year-old page boy looked very dashing in his mini tux! But we have to talk about Lauren's stunning 3D floral applique wedding dress! Just gorgeous! The sparkler tunnel with all of the guests was a memorable moment for the couple as it had been raining until that point. To highlight all these special moments was the string quartet who played The Jungle Book's "Bare Necessities" as the couple walked back down the aisle.
Lauren's mum made gin favours with rhubarb she'd grown, and the couple named tables after lakes in the Lake District they'd visited when they got engaged. But wait, it gets better! Lauren & Tom displayed photos of their grandparents and pets, had a maid of honour and bride speech as well as an epic wedding table plan. The couple created a table plan by pegging funny photos of their guests with their nicknames to a grid, which the guests unexpectedly pegged to their clothing and made it easy for everyone to recognise each other! Lauren & Tom also wrote their own personal vows. The couple had "I Wanna Be Yours" by The Arctic Monkey for their first dance and commissioned a neon sign with the song title of their first dance. They now have it hanging up in their living room as a lovely reminder of the day!
Finding suppliers was so difficult! We used Rock My Wedding to get a feel for which suppliers we needed, and what was out there. Then it was mainly stalking different accounts on Instagram! I followed our venue's hashtag and checked their tagged photos for local photographers/videographers/stylists/florists I liked the look of, added them on Instagram, looked through their photos and contacted them. The band was one of the most difficult - we were watching YouTube videos over and over!
