Irnham Hall
Anna the Stylist: Irnham Hall, Irnham near Grantham was the perfect location for our Boho Bridal Shoot which took place on a beautiful sunny day in April. The venue provides the perfect secluded and romantic wedding location within the setting of it’s grade II listed walled garden. We were able to explore the beautiful grounds and find some simply stunning locations for the shoot, from the manicured gardens, woodland, greenhouses and much more.
The Inspiration
Anna Straw of
Anna’s Attic Event Styling based in Lincolnshire came up with the concept for the shoot, really wanting to capture the essence of a more relaxed summer wedding with the emphasis on handmade and natural elements, capturing the mood of a relaxed summer boho wedding. Colour inspiration came in the form of pantone’s Peach Echo, Rose Quartz, Lilac Gray & Fiesta. With inspiration taken from natural materials and textures, Aztec prints, feathers and wood. A chill out area complete with handmade tipi, dream catchers and gypsy prayer flags was further styled with vintage patchwork quilts and crochet blankets. Within the orangery the handmade and natural theme was followed through on the top table, the wooden trestle was left unclothed, save for some simple mats and crochet doilies. Moss, succulents, feathers, fern leaves, quartz eggs and handmade leaf dishes were used to add to the natural look along with brass candlesticks and simple bronze and brass toned containers with natural blooms to complement the bridal bouquet. Cotton ribbons were created and used to decorate the bride and groom’s chairs, complementing the handmade Mr & Mrs signs. Vintage cutlery and mixed vintage glassware added to the relaxed feel. The images were captured perfectly by photographer
Aden Priest, Aden is based in Lincolnshire covering worldwide.
The Dresses
Kate Beaumont provided a number of her beautiful gowns along with two beautiful veils from Kate’s studio, made to order by Helen Martin Veils. Hollyhock is a soft and floaty gown with ivory French lace layered over a blush-coloured silk satin. Wild Lupin’s striking triple tiered lace skirt sits below a gently gathered gold silk bodice and features deep front and back V necklines trimmed with a floaty lace scallop. Kate’s Larkspur separates include a French lace top worn over a cream silk satin bias cut slip, the top makes the most of the lace’s incredible scallop edges, featuring them both down the front V and also along the high back neckline.
The Flowers
Navenby based florist
Petal and Stalk provided a bountiful bouquet following the boho theme. An extravagant elongated bouquet was packed with blooms in colours ranging from flame through to pastel with some grey and silvery tones. The concept and styling of the shoot was complemented by introducing lots of texture within the bouquet. Blousy coral peonies, clematis, kochia and ranunculus were used along with astilbe, hypericum, wax flower and even succulents for added interest. As well as creating the stunning bridal bouquet Petal and Stalk also provided a front facing flower crown using the same flowers as the bouquet, it really was a stunning piece, with perfectly open blooms, very full and decadent.
